Risk Reduction of Mining Accidents in Tisza Basin is component of "Hazards Risk Mitigation and Emergency Preparedness Project" and is co-financed by "Global Environment Facility"  and supported by World Bank.

Hazards Risk Mitigation and Emergency Preparedness Project components:
 A. Strengthening of Emergency Management and Risk Financing Capacity
 B. Earthquake Risk Reduction
 C. Flood and Landslide Risk Reduction
 D. Risk Reduction of Mining Accidents in Tisza Basin
 E. Project Management

The National Agency for Mineral Resources, the Competent Authority under the Mining Law is responsible for the implementation of this component D.

    The development objective
of this component project is to reduce the risk of water and soil contamination and loss of human and aquatic life from catastrophic mining accidental spills of pollutants.

The global environmental objective is to demonstrate and provide for replication for the reduction of catastrophic accidental spills of transboundary pollution loads from mine operations flowing into the Danube and Black Sea basins.
In support of development and global objectives, the project will assist in the implementation of mitigation and hazard prevention activities.
